Caledonia, Michigan, April 12, 2018 – The planning commission and village council of Caledonia has approved the development plans for a new 22,950 square foot assisted living center at 9031 N Rodgers Court SE in Caledonia. The single-story community will be called Legacies Assisted Living and construction is slated to begin in May.

The family owned and operated development will accommodate twenty assisted living apartments and eight secured memory care units that include their own private bedrooms, living room areas and bathrooms. Additionally, the facility will feature activity rooms, an outdoor activity area, a barber and beauty shop, a Five & Dime store, laundry room, kitchen and café, dining areas, and administrative offices. The community will offer residents state of the art comfortable accommodation, industry leading care and service, and daily life enrichment activities all in a warm home-like setting.

In addition to the construction jobs that will benefit the local trade businesses, the new facility will bring 18 to 30 new permanent positions to the Caledonia community. The construction manager and architect for the project is CD Barnes Construction and Architectural Concepts, respectively. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the location on Thursday, May 3rd at 3 pm.
