Aldi (Remodels)

Location

Plainwell, Shelby Twp., South Haven, Three Rivers & Wyandotte, MI

In 2016, Aldi began investing billions of dollars into remodeling their existing stores after identifying the need for additional produce and refrigeration space. The remodels included a 2,200 square foot addition and renovation of the interior finishes. With a tight 15-week start-to-finish schedule, each store remained open during construction for 10 weeks, then closed for a short 4-week duration before turning the sales floor over to the retailer. Construction of the addition required selective demolition, concrete and masonry, drywall, carpentry, site work and mechanical scopes of work. The project included the installation of state-of-the-art lighting and refrigeration systems that reduce energy use; an intentional focus that allows the national chain to pass the savings along to their customers.

“I truly felt like they [CD Barnes Construction] were an extension of my team, and not “The Contractor”. I believe they had my best interest at heart.” – Construction Manager, Aldi Inc.
