Grand Rapids, Michigan, March 10, 2021 – CD Barnes Construction is honored to announce that construction of a new faith-based teen center located at 2528 East Main Street in Kalamazoo is complete. The East Side City Life Center, owned and operated by Kalamazoo Youth For Christ (YFC), will impact thousands of underserved teens in the years to come, according to Executive Director, Scott McCloughan. The new 15,000 square foot teen center includes a teaching kitchen, teen lounge, recreational space, art areas, computer labs, staff offices, a gym, and a small store for teens to purchase snacks or personal products with credits earned for coming to the center. Executive Director, Scott McCloughan says they have already met over 35 new teens in the first two weeks they have been open. He praised the construction manager, “CD Barnes was “top shelf” from beginning to end. They are professional in how they conduct business, excellent with communication and provide a tremendous product in the end.” CD Barnes is thankful to have had the privilege of being a part of bringing this youth center to the Kalamazoo community.
