Electrical Contractor Receives Award For Work On Apartment Project

Grand Rapids, Michigan, November 6, 2017 – Last year CD Barnes Construction started a new quarterly program to recognize their subcontractors who exemplify the best in performance, quality and communication on their projects. Due to the fact that CD Barnes’ accomplishments rely heavily on the performance of their subcontractors, the award is appropriately called the Key to Our Success Award.

The contractor that was selected for the fourth quarter award was DeJong and Potter Electric out of Wayland for their work on CD Barnes’ Timberview Apartments project. An expansion of an existing apartment community in Grand Haven, the project consisted of adding two new three-story buildings, adding a total of sixty new units to the property. CD Barnes Construction’s site manager on the project, Jonathan Stoner, was the one who nominated the electrical contractor to receive the award. Jonathan presented DeJong and Potter Electric with the award while summarizing the reasons for his selection. “DeJong and Potter’s foreman was consistent in his communication and follow-through, keeping his crew on schedule when there were numerous changes on the project,” stated Jonathan. He continued, “Their coordination with the other trades onsite was outstanding; and their responses to changes were prompt, with all their paperwork and documentation in order. These are the kind of contractors we like to partner with and we look forward to working with DeJong and Potter Electric again.”
