Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 11, 2014 – CD Barnes Construction is pleased to announce that they have been selected by Brookdale Senior Living, parent company of Freedom Village, as their construction manager for a multi-phase project in Holland, MI. “Freedom Village is one of the premier providers of quality care for seniors in West Michigan; CD Barnes Construction is honored to have been selected as the construction manager on their project,” shared Executive Vice President Todd Oosting.

Brookdale Senior Living is a client of Phoenix Builders, LLC in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Phoenix Builders is an ABC Strategic Alliance Partner of CD Barnes Construction. When Phoenix Builders was invited to pursue this multi-million dollar project, they thought it advantageous to partner with CD Barnes due to our ties to local sub-contractors and suppliers. Together, CD Barnes Construction and Phoenix Builders were successful in receiving the project award.

The Freedom Village project will consist of three phases. Phase one will include the renovation of thirteen apartment units in the existing building. Upon completion of these units, residents will be relocated to free up the area for phase two construction – the renovation of the second floor into assisted living units. Once completion of all renovation work is done, phase three will commence – the remodel of the health care facility for those residents in need of an advanced level of care.

All proper steps will be taken to ensure that resident care is not disturbed during the course of this project. CD Barnes Construction is working closely with Freedom Village to ensure the safety, security and uninterrupted quality of life is maintained for residents, staff and visitors.

This project began in early August and will be phased over the next 22 months.
