Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 13, 2014 — Aldi Corporation is continuing to expand their market share and constructing another new location in Michigan; providing consumers with an alternate option for a quality store at which to do their grocery shopping. Todd Oosting, Executive Vice President of CD Barnes Construction announced today that the company has been selected as the General Contractor for the construction of the newest Aldi location; this will be their third collaboration with the supermarket. CD Barnes has constructed locations in Big Rapids and Three Rivers and has now been awarded the Plainwell location.

Construction of the 17,651 square foot, Plainwell Aldi store will include a one-story structural steel frame, foundation over concrete footings, masonry veneer with metal stud backup, aluminum storefront windows, a membrane roof, new plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, a loading area, sidewalks and other site improvements.
