CD Barnes Construction Appoints Thomas Berry as President
Grand Rapids, MI – May 23, 2025 – CD Barnes Construction is proud to announce the appointment of Thomas Berry as the company’s seventh president, effective May 2, 2025. This leadership transition marks a significant milestone in the firm’s continued growth and commitment to excellence in the commercial construction industry.
Thomas Berry brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his new role. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Berry’s discipline and service-driven mindset have shaped his professional career. Before joining CD Barnes Construction, he gained valuable industry experience at Houseman Construction and Wolverine Construction, where he developed a strong foundation in project oversight and operational management.
Berry joined CD Barnes nine years ago, initially serving as a Project Manager. His proven leadership and strategic acumen led to his promotion to Chief Operating Officer, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s market presence and operational efficiency.
Thomas is also a member of the Executive Leaders Peer Group—a confidential forum for construction executives to collaborate, share insights, and tackle leadership challenges in the industry through ABC Western Michigan.

Outside of work, Berry is a dedicated husband and father of four. He enjoys golfing in his free time and is an active member of the West Michigan community.
