Grand Rapids, Michigan, February 11, 2019 – CD Barnes Construction has selected Standard Supply & Lumber as 2019’s first Key to Our Success Award recipient. This quarterly award recognizes a contractor partner who exemplifies superior performance that exceeds expectations, leading to a collaborative environment, and ultimately, a successful project.

Standard Supply & Lumber was chosen by CD Barnes’ Project Manager, John Maycroft. John noted Standard’s outstanding commitment to continuous improvement on several of CD Barnes’ projects. Whether there is an estimating concern, a billing issue, or a change order matter, Standard is always willing to work through the issue and develop a mutually acceptable solution for all parties involved. Furthermore, John stressed Standard’s commitment to being a team player. For example, the supplier has a dedicated on-site coordinator who acts as a liaison between CD Barnes Construction, the framing contractor, and the panel plant. Although the on-site coordinator was not required by CD Barnes, Standard has stepped up their game to ensure they are doing their part to keep the project on schedule. Standard Supply & Lumber’s dedication to CD Barnes is also evident at progress meetings, where their field operations and quality manager, Dave Lewis, or their sales representative, Don Tucker, are always present to facilitate solutions to any field issues. All of these details do not go unnoticed by CD Barnes Construction, and that’s why the construction manager has presented Standard Lumber & Supply with this token of our appreciation for going above and beyond expectations.
