Michigan had one of its hardest winters in the 2013-2014 season with frigid temperatures and ice that left much of the state without power. Due to the heavy snow loads, a building in Grand Haven suffered a roof collapse that wasn’t discovered until early spring. After a structural analysis, a 7,000 square foot segment of the building was deemed unsafe to remain standing, and the owner contacted CD Barnes to perform the repairs.

Working as the owner’s Construction Manager, CD Barnes demolished the building and developed drawings for a replacement pre-engineered metal building. Given that the building was leased and the space was needed for immediate use, we worked diligently to replace the structure in a timely, efficient manner, while still ensuring the proper steps were taken to guarantee a quality building.
