CD Barnes Awarded Project in Grand Haven

Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 13, 2014 — CD Barnes Construction has partnered with NPI Holdings of Spring Lake, Michigan on numerous projects over the past twenty years, and is pleased to again have another opportunity to work with their company. Todd Oosting, Executive Vice President of CD Barnes Construction announced today that the company has been selected as the Construction Manager for the construction of a 7,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building in Grand Haven.

Due to heavy winter snow loads, the building located at 725 Taylor suffered a roof collapse to a portion of their building this past April; upon discovering the problem NPI Holdings contacted CD Barnes Construction to help them determine their best course of action for repairing the structure. After a structural analysis, a 7,000 square foot segment of the building was deemed unsafe to remain standing. CD Barnes worked to demo the building, develop drawings for a replacement and is now working to rebuild. “We are pleased that NPI Holdings again called on us to assist them with their construction needs,” shared Todd Oosting, “we have enjoyed working with them in the past and are privileged to again have the opportunity to do so.”

Given that the building is leased and the space is needed for immediate use, CD Barnes Construction is working diligently to replace the structure in a timely, efficient manner, while still ensuring the proper steps are taken to guarantee a quality building. Construction of the replacement structure is slated to begin in late June and will be completed early this fall.
